Hi All

I see that a similar question was asked today, but my grandfather saved a bunch of 1960 D cents in rolls marked "small date" and I'm pretty sure that all of them are large dates. I'd just like to check with all of you before rolling them back up.

I've attached a couple of samples from my maybe pile, but I think they are large dates.

Thanks

You are both correct. The LD has a 6 that reaches towards the 0. The SD 6 reaches a bit less.
Rest in Peace

I have to say they are all large dates. the way I tell is the 0 in 1960. the small date has a much smaller inside diameter than the large date.

Small dates. Look at the squared off inside of the loop portion of the 6 and 9

The small dates often show the an engraving mark on the 6:

Thanks for your help! Some of the coins have a smaller diameter inside the 0 in the date, but the nine is still higher than the 1 and the 6 is longer as well. I'll have another look for the engraving mark on the sixes.
