A not so good coin, but still a variety and your thoughts as to which doubled 9 variety not DP1 or 2 or 3 or 4, --looks like page 282 of the 65th Charlton, but it has extras like the triple punched 9 page 293.

From the photos provided, this appears to be Dr. Haxby
reverse E39b.

Be advised, Charlton's is rather selective in which 9/9's
they opt to promote. Many other variants of the 9/9 are
recognized than which are posted in Charltons.

Hi Doug,--- oldman from the other site
Yes I had this marked as E39b but noticed the extra (middle arrow) on the end of the 9 and thought it may be something else, like a combo of ?

The coin is definitely p282 of Charlton but PMD is partially hiding some of the markers and adding anomalies. Charlton doesn't "promote" and varieties any more. A group or a single collector submits their choices for inclusion for that annual denomination covered privately a year or two before publication. It is the collectors and researchers who feel that xxx coin should be listed, not the publishing company. For the 65th edition, the group of 5 experts/collectors had to narrow it down to 80 for the whole 1858-1901 series because that was all the room they had. One of the goals was to include examples of every year and point out the "types" of avarieties available for that year. The 65th edition could have been 120-150 pages long to cover the "major" varieties that are easily seen and/or collected but space was limited

CCC site was not up to snaps after it came back last time the same problem occurred.
It sure looks like Snaz does not care, or is NOT interested in it at all.Or he can not or does not want to afford to keep it maintained.
Snaz did not incorporate a very simple safeguard and protection. Positive manual response confirming the ID of an applicant.
the Russians would have never been able to come in and mess it up...

Personally, I doubt it will come back this time. Even though there were only a half a dozen or so active participants for a long time, I enjoyed "looking in" once in a while.
Someone might want to consider starting it again just for what it actually wants to be exclusively: a forum for Vicky cents.
Sad fact is: Posts in other topics there found very little or NO resonance. Some even were totally ignored.

47P7: Based upon your post and a couple others on different sites about the CCC website, I contacted a friend through a friend and found out that Snaz had been out of town and never knew that the site was down. The site essentially ran on its own with a single moderator who tried to keep things running without any admin authority and then the site went blank. The hacking problem and ultimate shutdown was a "host" problem, not a site problem. I have been assured that Snaz, now that he knows, will try to get things back to normal. If the site can not be brought back up, then he will try to save what was already on there and put the info into an archive somewhere where it can be accessed. In any case, give it a few days and then check in. I used to go there most every day to see what was going on.
