First is a 1943-S which I think is double struck, but wanted to make sure I am learning this right. Next what I think is an 1984D-1MM-002, you can not see the split in the upper left hand corner but it is there. Thanks for looking!

The 43 S is reprocessed. That means it has been cleaned and replated outside the mint to make it look "shiny" again. This was a common thing to do to make rusty or slightly worn pieces look good again. They have a different color than coins that were not replated.
That look is a very common anomaly on reprocessed cents of 1943. This coin is not double struck nor is it a doubled die.
The 84 D, I can't really tell from the picture.
Thanks, Bill

Bill,
Thanks! I have never heard of that one before, was it a company that replated the cents or just dealers and people in general?

many different sources replated zinc cents. Nothing official about it, some were done in the hundreds, some in the thousands, and yet still some one at a time.
I can see what appears to be a possible RPM on the 1984D, but the image is a little blurry.

The pictures are not clear enough to tell but if the blurriness of images is not due to the camera shaking..then yes, they are reprocessed cents.
Thanks, Bill

Here are some better pictures of a 1943 Replated cent. You can even see the rust coming back through. Note the color. Some are very shiny. This one is duller because of the rust resurfacing. I also added a closeup of the date so you can see the doubling that occurs as part of the replating process. It can be quite different on each coin but the characteristics are the same. Then I added a pic of a 1943 that is basically uncirculated, you can see the clarity of the surface and the difference in the color. ( I couldnt find a '43S to use but the 1943 still makes the point.
