Impulse buy as no pawn shops had any mercs worth buying. First and probably only Large Cent (famous last words?).

Pretty sure I know where this falls using photograding, but wanted feedback.

Thanks!

O.K. it took me awhile to attribute this thing because it's an F-15. Higher grades are easier to attribute. I've got it pegged at an F-15 N-3 die variety. The fact that the 1, the 8 and the 4 all touch is diagnostic. Be careful Shale copper gets in your bloodstream and before you know it you'll be prowling for large cents too.

I will admit I was thrown off by what the photograde told me... this is my first experience with Large Cents in person, and it was surprisingly detailed (to me) for the grade. I mean... at VF grade compared to a Mercury dime, it is very pleasing to look at!

Yeah, it would slab 15. If mine I would call it a 10....nice example....only 13 left for a Braided Hair date set!

Ok, so I don't have a RedBook and 15 doesn't fall on any of the sites I use. What would be a fair price to pay for this? So I can figure out how much my impulse buy cost me :). I'm still looking at it impressed at how deep the major designs on these are. Making me think about a date set in this range now :P

I'd say $15-$20 is a fair price.
