With lots of fakes floating around, I am getting worried about a few nice b/unc, IHC and some nice Canadian coins. I thought about slabs.

If they are worth the extra cost? If I had to sell any would it help the value?

Who would be the preferred companies?

Like 1888, and up to 1908. 7 or 8 coins common and a 1908-s
in VF+ and some other nice coins.

How are IHC`s values on the market?

Thanks

Gary

It really depends on the value of the coin. Another consideration is condition. Mint state indians don't necessarily need to be slabbed. If you think the coins are better than MS-60 than definitely get them slabbed. Prices go up exponentially for 64s or 65s. If the coins are red get them slabbed. As far as a company go with either NGC http://www.ngccoin.com/ or PCGS http://www.pcgs.com/ These two companies realize the best prices. As far as prices, go to ebay and search for similar coins and that will give a good idea of true market price. Good Luck.

For the date range of IHC's that you mentioned slabbed coins are not necessary until you reach MS-64.
BUT
It can't hurt to get the lower grades in slabs; just don't spend money doing it yourself.

Throw a couple of them at ANACS during one of their '2 grade free' deals. It's fun.
