The Obverse has a long heavy point from the hair just right of the coronet and a dull point to the right from the upper portion of the outer hair bun. (See photos) The DNR seems to match. (See photo) So I think the Obverse is N-35.
The most striking feature of the Reverse is a strong line (or scratch or crack?) up to the right from the bottom of E to the top of N in CENT. There are features from both ends of this line which may be more from
Die Deterioration or polishing or corrosion. However the line from E to N itself is different in appearance than the features at either end. This entire feature may be due to deterioration, polishing or corrosion. (See photos)
However:
• I see no sign of a strong line from the point of the leaf to the right of T in CENT down right through the berry to the wreath stem. This should be present on N-35 reverse. (See photo)
• There is a strong line (or point) up to the left from the top of the first T in STATES (but at a slightly different angle and position than N18) which is not mentioned in the description of any Reverse I can find. (See photo)
• There is a line (or point) up to the right from the inside stem just above the 2nd berry) which is not mentioned in the description of any Reverse I can find. (See photo)
It seems to me that, with the detail used to describe these varieties, those lines would have been mentioned somewhere!
So the Reverse does not appear to be that of N-35, nor of any others I can find.
Can anyone help me understand?
