I keep away from all large shows. I've found over time that although many coins are there that I need, the prices are so far over what they should be, I'd rather just wait for things I need to appear at small shows.

Never been to the FUN show. I'm just 20 minutes from the Long Beach show. Have not been really impressed with the Long Beach shows (and although they advertise 3-days, that's BS, most dealers and TPGs are gone on the 3rd day with the potential clients just shaking their heads), but have a lot of material to submit to the TPGs and can pick up some supplies. With any luck I will find some items to pick up.
I usually go with a pocket full of cash and leave with a pocket full of cash!

Yup dsfreeworld, I too am three hours away, and I took off of work but things happen and I can't make it. Would be my first time too, there is always next year. Good news for my local coin dealer though, the money I was going to spend up there on coins I spent in his shop since I wasn't going to make it.

Still waiting to go to the FUN show. The biggest one that I have been too so far has been the Baltimore convention show. I think they said that is 2nd biggest to only the FUN show. THAT WAS A BLAST AND HUGE! One day when I am able to shell out 50k on a coin I will go there lol. Until then all smalls for me!

I live near Tampa and have only made the FUN show once, that was last year. I have been saving money ever since planning to go this year. Then My LCS bought a nice group of unc. Washington quartes. After purchasing 5 of those my FUN account was down to $5. But I still had fun with it!
Maybe next year.

Start a nice piggy back for next year Tryna. Unless I am mistaken it will be in your back yard in 2016, and who in their right mind can resist some of those early unc Washingtons~!! Good call!

I slid a twenty under that $5 bill this morning before I left for work, so got that piggy liking to be fed. You are correct Deb! I just looked it up and it is at the Tampa Convention Center next year!! Only 364 days away.
