Hi - I'm new to the forum and a complete novice. I was at a flea market in NYC and came across a vendor that was selling old coins and bills. I thought it would be neat to pick up a US 2$ bill and he had these ones with a Ku Klux Klan gold seal. He told me they were rare so we bought a couple. Can't recall now how much they were --- maybe $10 each. Just wondering if anyone knows the story behind these. The vendor did not elaborate on this. Cheers, Kato

I cant imagine there being any "story" behind these beyond it being an attempt at utilizing US currency to advertise a racist organization. Certainly it carries no value beyond $2. I recommend throwing away the sticker before spending.

Maybe it is like the Masons and the way they put punch marks one coins? That being said I don't know if it would warrant the markup. A quick web search didn't reveal much, mostly conspiracy theory websites.
I am having trouble reading the text, can you transcribe it? "Albert Fink" or something.

Doesn't give off a very good vibe because of what that sticker represents. Only worth $2 and something I wouldn't want to spend while that sticker is attached to it.

Not rare, worth face value.

Quote: he had THESE ONES with a Ku Klux Klan gold seal. HE told me they were rare Sounds like there were a bunch of them for sale. I wouldn't be surprised if HE went and had the foil stickers made for 20¢ each and got a wrap of $2's and quadrupled his money.

First, welcome to the forum Kato.
Secondly, I am sorry, but I have to concur with everyone else. These are not particularly rare and given that there is now a "KKK seal" stuck on it, I'm not sure how many people would accept it at face value until that sticker is removed.
Sincere condolences!

Thanks for all of the replies. KKK rubbish.
I'll keep em' as US $2 bills.
Someone asked what the seal said.
Outer part looks like "Albert Pike or Pine", "Knights Of The Ku Klux Klan"
Inner seal reads "Klan, N.J.", "No. 2"
Bizarre.

please don't compare Free Masons to the KKK.

No one is comparing the Mason's to the kkk. Allranger merely referred to the many known examples of Mason's poststamping coins.
