For those of us who remember the Watergate saga, here was an editorial cartoon from my local newspaper sometime in early 1974...

If they only had known back then that Nixon would actually be on a legal tender $1 U.S. coin one day! I bet they would have laughed if you told them... lol

The only way that Nixon "coin" in the cartoon could get a grade of MS-70 would be if your copy included the "missing 18 minutes"

I think the 18 minutes were removed via an updated version of the Trade dollar chop-marks!

OMG, I've long forgotten about the missing 18 minutes. I am looking forward to the coin though. I'll hand them out to friends that tell tales.

We have a mass murderer on our 20, why not a megalomaniac on the dollar coin?

Every president has their detractors. I'm sure there are some southern boys to this day that have some choice words for the guy on the penny and $5. I don't care much for the guy on the dime, but I'm not gonna call him names in the middle of a fun discussion about coins.

Yes, we need to keep this focused on the coins and not our political opinions towards those who are on the coins. Although, it goes without saying that Liberty would be the perfect solution to ease objections of detractors. Am I right?
