Hi there - has anyone seen this before? It looks to me like there are some man made gouges, but there are a couple that look like the strike was overtop of the gouges (?)

The reverse is PMD, not too sure about the obverse.

agreed that the reverse is post mint damage. The obverse looks as though it is a planchet error. some sort of gouge on the blank before it was struck.

I have seen these before as well, mostly on quarters, or nickels which are pure nickel. I believe its a flaw in the planchet and it was struck over it. I don't know if there is a market for these, I only keep them if they look cool or are significant. Or if the coin is immaculate. With the PMD on the reverse, personally I would put it back into circulation.

I might be wrong, but I have seen a lot of these.

Thanks for your input everyone - I'll treat it like a flaw on the obverse and plain damage inflicted on the reverse.....
Cheers
