I'm wondering if anyone else is collecting die combination of large cents,I'm actively collecting 1890 Lrg Cent ""die combination"".Is anyone working on the 1891 Lrg Cents? Or working on any year? If so let us know what your doing, how is it going and if you have found anything interesting.
Way to go Strach man Sounds like you really have the bug. We will see what we can dig up for you in the next few weeks . Looking at a very nice couple of runs of large cents from two different sources Stateside. Watch out for new listings!
Strach: Rob Turner already has written a book on all the marriages/combos for the 1891's in "Dies and Diadems" and his latest thick volume covers the 90 & 92 mintages. Both are complete with all the photos, highlighted markers, exploded thumbnails for key digits & letters, and the calculated percentages for how common each Obverse or Reverse is. I'd suggest you try to find copies to either buy or check out to help your own personal research.
Well, today, I finally figured (or was explained to me) who Strach-man actually is. He's a rabid collector and I know him; just never connected the two names. He's getting heavy into varieties. Good luck Andrew.
