The other concern of mine is that you are using Blu Tack to hold the coin. The stuff contains hydrocarbons and oils and emits vapours that cause damage. Report this Post to the Staff

I have a 5c the would de the elliptical clip brockerage as my third favourite and no 1 is I simple split 2 c planchet that I was told I would never find this 2c as was told copper would not split like cupro nickel the simplest coins just fascinate me the most I have coins worth 10s of thousands but like the strange the most Report this Post to the Staff
nealeffendi Pillar of the Community Australia 852 Posts	Posted 01/14/2015 06:32 am Gloves are cheap and disposable and the coins are nice and irreplaceable. The only way you could improve on those little beauties would be to find the elliptical clip that made that indent. There are other split planchet coins about, saw a 1968 Malaysian cent struck on a split planchet just by googling split copper coins, so the person who told you copper would not split is mistaken.
