The blanks can fall apart before they reach planchet stage, but this one has survived the coining press as well. A single drop of oil falling on the strip during the rolling process is enough to cause many laminate blank errors to be stamped from the strip. The RAM more commonly produced the these sorts of errors in 20 cent and 10 coins during the early years of Australian decimal currency. Report this Post to the Staff
