It is quite possible that it is worth 20K. I do not collect them or anything but the online guide I have only tracks back to Charles II and in EF 20K is a a little higher than average

This seller is notorious for his tricky photography. I'd tread cautiously

Coinkid, The Brits are not as keen on slabs as Americans are. So not slabbed is expected

Well, I decided to look up the auction history of this type and found this exact coin. The seller bought it for £10k, so its certainly not worth the £20k.

The UK 2015 coin yearbook lists this coin as £3250 in F, and £9500 in VF. There is no listing for EF. The seller states this coin is "about EF". (This always strikes me as a little cheeky). I read somewhere that as a rough rule of thumb coins doubled in value with each grade increase, with variations due to scarcity in specific grades etc.

If this seller bought it for around £10,000, this seems to suggest that the grade is VF+.

I am very much a beginner, especially where gold is concerned, so would appreciate reading some expert opinion.

Regardless of the coin's actual grade or value, it is still a beautiful thing to look at.

Kefiroth is being far politer than I ever could be with regard to this particular seller. My advice, overpriced and over graded, leave well alone.

Just read some shocking news!
Thank you everyone for your help/ I found Chris Taylor of buckscoins purchased this for $12,925 and mentions possibly ex=jewelry so I am a little disappointed. I would like to purchase one of these for a fair price..

The shock came when I googled Chris Taylor of Buckscoins This is a must read and shocking!
