Good Morning,

A friend of mine in Italy found these coins while metal detecting a few years ago and was wondering if you guys would have any more information on them and possible value.

We know that the Roman coin is Gordian and the gold is Florentine

Thanks!

The Gordian is either RIC#82 or RIC#83.

The gold coin is a Fiorino d'oro, anonymous issue from 13th century to 1532.
If you want to distinguish between the various periods you need precise weight and diameter.
And for a full attribution you need to distinguish between minor marks and have to get the relevant issue of CNI.
For some differentiation have a look at the Numismatica Italiana website.

The Gordian III while a nice looking coin is common and has a small value at around $20-$25. The gold Florentine is a beautiful coin, as to value I would have no idea though.
