I'm guessing this thread see its first pause/stall later this year (before 1670?). If not, then definitely sometime next year.

I have six coins yet to post from the 1700's; twenty six from the 1600's, and a mere ten from the 1500's, the oldest of which was just posted in the 'second edition'. I do not have any long runs of more plentiful coins such as denars, kreuzers or grossus to help with stalling because I prefer to use my limited budget for larger, more eye catching pieces. Perhaps some 'new eyes' with old treasures will spot this or the other thread before they stagnate.

1734 washer halfpenny  This was one of the first coins I 'bought'. I was at a long-closed LCS with a schoolfriend who also collected coins. The dealer always had a tray of worn, damaged and foreign coins for 5p each. One day Andrew and I got to the shop and there were hardly any coins left in the tray. The dealer emptied the tray, divided the contents into two equal lots, and gave one to Andrew, the other to me. This halfpenny was in my lot! |
