I love the Dutch Guilders (at least that is what we AF guys/gals called them back in the day before the Euro came around) ! Being stationed in The Netherlands (89-92) (avatar patch to the left over there <-----<<<) was the greatest gift that the Air Force gave me (other than the birthing establishment of my twin daughters) ! Wonderful country and incredible people! (sigh)

oih82w8 - I liked the Queen Juliana Dutch Guilder too. Shame that the Beatrix one which followed it was such an ugly coin! Here's a start to 1957 with two good old British halfpennies showing Sir Francis Drake's ship, the Golden Hind. These coins illustrate the 'Flat Sea' and 'Wavy Sea' varieties. The reverse dies were changed in 1957 and all subsequent halfpennies had the 'wavy sea'...
