Welcome to Coin Community, andrew22. Nice thinking on your part to drop a Note to Staff as you did, it was just what you needed. This is the right place for your question.

I am hardly the Lincoln expert in this place, but I believe what you're looking at is deterioration of the metal. We shall wait for people who know more than I, though.

Looks like typical staining to me. something very common with zinc cents. you'll know with experience.

I'm talking about what looks like a mint mark under the 3rd 0 in 2000 it's in the green junk . it looks like a messed up s but mintmarks were not in that spot of the coin ... thanks again

It might be a gas bubble under the plating if it collapses under pressure. Or if might be a die dent if it is not able to be collapsed. Not a big thing as a premium though.

how about I have 1987 D / D mintmark and the back is off center
and 1982 S/S with an off center back .do dies anyone know about this ?
