what can everyone determine about this coin.both front and back are extremely large,but doesn't appear to be mushy or flattened out.

Good question USOA looks like they have serifs. We will have to wait for the pro's to chime in on this one..

Well it didn't leave the mint like that. PSD Possible squashed with a vice between two pieces of leather that rounded the devices evenly not pressing in one area too long to bend/distort the coin.

I noticed on this coin that even on the inside of the wheat stalks,there is still pretty much the same space between the individual grains.thr rim on the coin appears to be the same as any other coin.got me puzzled.thanks

I found a 1944 with the same features. The thought was it might have been a " Dryer Coin"...but I'm still unsure.

The squashed devices here are due to flatting from being jumbled around with other coins or other hard blunt objects.

You'd get the same effect if you rolled the coin around with some steel shot for a few hours.
