I recently began to save both clad and silver proofs of the 'State' set. I have so far only acquired 36 of the 56 silver proofs. I've bought all of the coins as 'singles' (not by yearly sets) and have been paying from $3.50 to $6.25 for each coin. The problem so far is to get decent prices for the clad proofs. The "Graysheet" listed the yearly sets from $1.75 to $3.75 each (except 2008---$34.00 for the year?), but most I see on ebay are looking closer to $7-$8 per year. I'm going to hold back on them unless I can find a bargain.

I only bother with the silver proofs. They are averaging $4.25-$4.50 per single. Having more than 1 clad set of unc and clad proofs is a waste of space. The silver sets look brilliant whether in a Dansco, Whitman or Capital Plastic holder.

I have about 10 holes to fill in my "circulated" Statehood Quarters collection. Guess that's 90% complete. I have trouble finding P mint coins since my state borders Colorado. No problem finding D mint coins though. Found a missing South Dakota P today (yippee).

Here's an update to my previous posts. I had the chance to go on a one week trip to Florida the first week of January, including a three day cruise, and my activities included getting several hundred dollars of quarters from the shipboard casino change machines and cashing in the ones I didn't want. I have finally hit the milestone of completing my State Quarter collection, having gotten the elusive 2003P Illinois quarter. As well, I also got the 2009D Virgin Islands quarter and a whole bunch of ATB`s that I didn`t have yet. My list of what I need is now down to only 2009D Guam for the Territorial quarters, and the following ATB`s: 2010D Yosemite, 2010P Mt. Hood, 2011P&D Gettysburg, 2012P Chaco Culture, 2013D Ft. McHenry, 2014P Everglades (I thought I had it but at home I saw I got 2 2015P Bombay Hook instead; too similar! ), 2015D Bombay Hook and 2015D Saratoga.

Well, guess I'll update my post too. My State Quarters are officially done (circulated coins, no proofs). I'm pretty much up to date on the ATB Quarters too.

I started working towards the Statehood Quarters on a road trip to California back in 2009, and continued checking change back here in Canada. I finished several months ago with my last hole being Maine, except I only went for one of each state/territory (ignoring the mint marks due to scarcity of Philadelphia up here). Had I lived in the states, I probably would've gone for mint marks, too. As for ATB, I didn't even know about them until I got a 2012 Denali in circulation more than a year ago. I'm missing many 2010-11, and the newer ones have a bit of a delay before they surface here so I need most 2015s as well.

Within a few months since my last post (June), I completed my State Quarter collection; P's, D's, proofs, and silver proofs. I have a lot of proofs in US Mint sets, so my album still looks 25% empty, but I know I've got them all. After getting all the 50-State proofs, I figured I'd get all of the older proofs too. I was able to pick up almost all at reasonable prices and just need the 1936 to complete that part. I also got all the proofs for the ATB Quarters. My base ATB set is in a P & D folder, so no spot for the proofs. For now I'm either leaving them in 2x2's or the plastic cases they came in. Oh, and though I have all the base ATB Quarters in Mint slabs, I'm trying to fill my folder holes with pocket change finds. I'm still looking for seven of the past 14 mintages; mostly D's

@CopperCastle: NICE!! Feels good to complete a set/album, particularly your first! No time to bask in the glory... What's your next one?

I already set out my 2016 numismatic goals but reading this thread makes me want to add one.... a PDSS Statehood Album. Not sure I'm ready for this... deep breaths...

I do enjoy seeing others enjoying Washington quarters as much as I do. IMO Washington quarters are a series where a middle class class collector can complete a 1932 to date set in higher grades. The 1932 to 1939 holes might have to be filled with less than BU coins, depending on how much your comfortable spending on each coin. I recently sold a PDSS sets of State Quarters, to help fund another coin purchase. That put me down to only two sets, in Dansco albums. I ended up doing another set, that still needs the 2007 silver proofs. At the end of December I made a catch up order, 2015 silver proof set, 2015 clad quarter proofs and the last two ATB quarter three roll sets. Those are still sitting on my desk, waiting to be cracked open to fill my ATB albums.
