Someone just posted a 1999 Lincoln in another thread that has a die crack at the bottom right of the obverse. I would have never known to look for such a thing - no telling how many I've handled and never knew.

Are there common errors on any coins that one would expect to find looking through a jar of pocket change?

Die cracks, die chips, struck through (grease),struck through debris are just a few. You should also look for trail dies, cuds MAD's DDO DDR,die clash.MAD clash etc.

Just to show a few of what is out there and there are more that I didn't show. But these are not common. They are very valuable in some cases. The ones John1 mention are very common so they don't usually have much of a premium.

Rotated dies, easily over looked.

Note: saying easily overlooked does not necessarily mean easily found as I've yet to find anything rotated over 5 degrees, but rotations up to 180 degree (CW or CCW) do exist. Easily missed if you're not consciously checking for it. Thanks, Doug.

Out of that bunch only 6 have I owned. I keep the images for use in my educational files. (current count of over 3600+ images) Although these probably won't be found in change, it is always nice to know what is out there.

No doubt! I appreciate seeing these, big time! I can easily see the clipped planchets just being tossed and easily passed over as PMD

Years ago the 98 and 2000 Wide AM's were fairly easy to find . I haven't found one recently.
