This coin was part of a large collection of my Great Grandfathers. I believe he was actively collecting in the 20's and 30's. Most of his collection was auctioned off in the 60's. I have the unsorted minors and junk (not to me!), mostly world coins. As any coin collector would, I believe he kept any error that he came across. Of all of the Lincoln cents that I have (maybe 50), about 20 are errors.

I am trying to learn as much about what I have as I can. Some to sell, and some to keep.

I would like to add: I started organizing and identifying this collection about 25 years ago using the Standard Catalog of World Coins. It was difficult and time consuming, but totally turned me into a numismatist. I have loved this hobby ever since. I actually set it all aside for the last 15 years because I found identifying everything was just too hard. That is a very different story today. With Google, the information is much more available. But the CCF has been the most amazing community of experts and knowledge. I can't say enough about how cool this forum is.

You probably have your Grandfathers genes for collecting. I have the bug from one of my Grandfathers.

I do Coop. I never met the man, he died 7 years before I was born. But with his collection, I feel a very close bond to him.

Sure, I could post them here or start a new thread. I have new lenses for my iPhone, so I'm working on better photography right now.

I've also found many world coins with cracked and/or worn dies. I wonder if that was something he liked or if they are simply part of the world coin population.

Try and use one coin per thread and put the date/mint mark on the title. That way anyone wanting to search for that thread will have an easier time finding it.
