I ended up only paying $30.00 for the whole lot, which was an obvious no brainer....I would estimate there is about $100 face value in total. Any info would be great! The lot includes: 17 uncirculated rolls of 1962 nickels 19 uncirculated rolls of 1963-1964 nickels half a lunch bag of 1962 nickels uncirculated half a lunch bag of 1963-1964 nickels uncirculated 10 uncirculated rolls of 1962-1964 pennies 1 basket full of 1962-1963 pennies (Most uncirculated, some dirty)

Quote: you holding about 40- 50 face value Just in the rolls alone there is $77 now add the 2 half bags of nickels and the basket of cents. You will have to get the Red Book and go through all coins to see what you have. Price wises you are ahead. Scratch the Red Book just reread and saw Canadian. Do what they are saying on the Canadian thread.

All of the nickels are 99% nickel so if you are a hoarder of nickel then Great score, the 62's are the last year of the octagonal (there is another name for them) and are interesting. The 64's you need to look for what's called an extra waterline.
just click onto coinsandcanada.com search the nickels for the varieties.
for the pennies, in the years of 62 and 63, there are many varieties, including double dates however the most elusive are what are called Harps, or guitars. if you look at the 1 above the maple leaf, running under this and to the top of the maple leaf there are strings. if you have a complete set of 6 going all the way down, this is guitar, if they stop its called a harp.
Again you can see examples on the above site.
Good luck

bloomberg. I hope you do come back and post your finds. while some may have judged you, I really hope it doesn't hinder you from participating in this forum, and of course coin collecting.

1962 1-cent coins are chock full of varieties... happy hunting!! Oh yeah.... and to CCF!! If you need a list of the various things to look for in those coins, feel free to ask in the Canadian Variety and Errors forum.
