has anyone noticed their dsr's go down for no reason? i dont get it, I try hard to get 5 stars which is the reason I offer free shipping on almost all my auctions for the last couple years I was at 5.0 for shipping charges and it just dropped to 4.9 what else do I have to do to get 5.0? pay the buyer to ship my stuff? also I ship usually the same day if not the next day and I cant seem to get 5.0 for shipping time even my feedacks are proof of happy customers bragging about fast shiping,,,what does ebay expect?

Honestly, no. Although I'm only on my 7th month as a seller, ebay has fixed my rating a few times back to 5 without any prompting, and let me know about it.

Best advice ...........don't get beat up over it! Paying to much attention to DSR won't let you pay enough attention to your business. You will never please everybody, no matter how hard you try.

Sage advice... focus on what's in your control.... and stop trying to control what's in your focus...

A perfect 5.0 rating instead of a 4.9 won't get you more bidders or higher bids.
Good pictures, accurate descriptions and true auctions that start at $1.00 WILL!!

Some people accidently click the wrong rating. A few deliberately do it; I guess just because they can?

Quote: Some people accidently click the wrong rating. A few deliberately do it; I guess just because they can? I've seen myself do that on occasion, usually when leaving feedback for multiple items from the same seller - just trying to hurry through it - Not deliberately though...

Quote: Some people accidently click the wrong rating. A few deliberately do it; sure that may be true but when you offer free shipping it is supposed to be automatic 5.0, thats why I dont understand how it can go down.,i wont lose any sleep over it but I think have done what is required to get those 5.0's after all you start getting discounts from ebay when you have all 5.0's

Gidjit, worry about making a PROFIT on ebay not your ratings. Any business needs the bottom line ! You are not trying to win a popularity contest. Check out our ebay site, we don't have a full five star rating or even a 100 per cent positive . I could care less! We offer excellent product and service and look after those who deal with us. You are never going to please everyone . But we Make Money!

Not sure if you've seen this page but just in case http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/top-rated.html#what This is the rating that gives you the basic 20% off final fees. There are different criteria to get the Global rating vs the US rating. Neither requires straight 5's to qualify.

I don't get how they add up the feedback count percentage...

You don't get a feedback 'point' for each item sold but for each transaction. If I sell you 12 coins at $100 apiece and you pay for them all at once that counts as one transaction. You go through and leave me 12 positive feedbacks and my feedback score goes up by just 1. I sell a scrap penny to somebody else for $1 and it gets lost in the mail so they leave me negative feedback. If those were the only 2 transactions I had during the past 12 months my feedback percentage would be just 50%; 1 positive out of 2 total.
