Sorry I think it's an N-4. I'm not seeing the reverse crack that is diagnostic of N-27. N-4 and N-27 have the same obverse die and I'm not seeing a mid to late die state here. Although I've been known to be wrong before..... Fantastic price though!

both the n4 and 27 seem to have reverse cracks on them in some die states but I could not see any on this coins reverse, the n27 has a small point up on the n in one I think see. the n4 is supposed to have a point going downward on left serif of n in cent. could not see it on this coin so I am not sure of n4 versus n27. n4 is R3

What book are you using to attribute? Just out of curiosity. I usually stick to Newcomb's work.
