Bahrain is a small island kingdom in the Persian Gulf, between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Formerly a British protectorate, it has issued it's own coins since 1965.
Your coin is a 50 fils dated 1965. On the obverse, the name of the country in Arabic is at the top, the year, in Arabic numerals in the Christian and Muslim calendars, is given below the palm tree. The reverse has the denomination: "50" (in Arabic numerals) and "falsan", a plural form of "fils". KM# 5, CV 50˘ in EF.
