This is another inherited coin that has an early ANACS photo certificate, but how would you grade it?

Since I may be trying to sell the coin and I'm just starting to learn...any information I should include in the description of this coin? Are there different varieties I should know about? Thanks!

I'm at AU as well. Unfortunately the coin looks to have been cleaned. The diagonal hairlines are a dead giveaway. Sorry. Nice coin none the less.

Thanks for the feedback. Should I be concerned that my pic may be making the coin look worse than it is? What can I expect the cleaning to do to the coin's value?

That depends on the buyer so it's hard to say. The coin is in superb condition so some will not hesitate to buy but others may balk entirely. Numismedia lists the coin as $180 in AU-53 but that's for a coin that hasn't been cleaned. It would not suprise me if this coin sold for $120 as is but that is simply speculation on my part. ebay may be your best bet if you wish to sell as eBayers generally are willing to overlook a cleaning for such a nice coin.

If selling on ebay the best description is a good photo that accurately shows the condition of the coin. This will limit returns and help to maximize the price realized. Generally, in my limited experience. cleaned coins that still have some appeal will sell for 50-75% of what a non problem coin would sell for. I think that ebay would be the proper venue for this coin.
