I found this in a 2 for a quarter bucket and found it interesting. 28mm Dia 3mm @ it's edge 9.35g To me it does not seem to be cast. Someone turned it into a button but is there more to it then that? The image here is the seal of the state of Louisiana (though the motto has been inexplicably edited down from the official "Union, Justice, & Confidence"). The state bird of Louisiana is the brown pelican, but the image on the seal is the medieval Christian "pelican in her piety," as reiterated by a 2006 resolution in the state legislature requiring the three red drops of blood to always be featured on the mother pelican's bosom.
