I wonder why some many oz's/pounds of bullion silver is being sold on ebay. Not sure why folks would want to buy bullion silver on ebay and not the dealer web site. I am not seeing better prices on ebay then dealer web sites so I just do not get why ebay not dealer web sites.

I see what u are saying fistfulladirt but last few years ebay has ads for bullion dealers that sell on ebay. JM,Apmex,Scottsdale,MCM and Silvertowne free shipping.

Free Shipping

JM over $100
APMEX over $99
Scottsdale over $500
MCM if u are in the USA
Silvertowne their Minted Coins and Bars to a point but not all
ProvidentMetals Free shipping with items in Free shipping page

As far as pricing I never see prices low on ebay from these 6 dealers

For a single oz Silvertowne is alway the cheapest with free shipping
For order over $100 JM is about always the cheapest
For order over $500 Scottsdale is my pick

ebay Junk silver sometimes but 99% of the time Silver Bullion over priced

Fistfulladirt I am thinking of doing the digging thing with my girlfriend. What items do think a newbie should get for that? I have a idea about trying to find where circus would set up in the day by maybe looking into old records the city's would have and try to dig at those spots or beaches or river side area's. What do u think about those types of spots and where are good spots u dig at?

Outside of the Buy It Now's, it is the thrill of possibly getting a great. In reality those great deals are few and far between.

When buying smaller quantities, I like ebay because dealers like APMEX lists stuff there with free shipping. This is a pretty smart strategy, IMO.

Also, for rare poured bars, the big retailers can be expensive. I guess there is a trade off between trust and price. However, It's pretty easy to do a few simple tests (area/weight, magnet....) to feel comfortable.

If you're buying a number of coins at once, dealing directly with the bullion dealer's website is smart (and cheaper). However, if you're only wanting one coin, or are making a big purchase from one site but want something from another (i.e., APMEX has exclusive products, as does JM Bullion), then ebay is cheaper.

For example, late last year I made a decent sized purchase from JMB since they were cheaper than APMEX, but wanted one of the 2015 3/4 ounce Canadian Wolves from APMEX, so I bought it off ebay. The $3 more I spent on ebay was a lot cheaper than if I'd have made the entire purchase via APMEX's website, instead of JMB.

I know, but I am saying 5oz-10oz-kilo's of silver bullion on ebay. ebay is good at times for singles sure. I just can not understand/figure out why bulk buying of silver bullion on ebay from the dealers that have web sites goes on in the 10's of 1000's everyday.

Silvertowne has 10 single 1oz bars for about $187.00 on the silvertowne web site. On ebay silvertowne sold 7 batches of 10 single 1 oz packs for $201.00 or so today alone. So how does a person not get that? It goes on everyday for years now and ebay has silvertowne ads on ebay pages?
