What you have is an American Silver Eagle. Its composition is 99.9% silver.

In 1992 there were 5,540,068 bullion Silver Eagles minted.

The brownish color is likely toning. I don't think it affects the value.

MeadowviewCollectoris correct! The toning generally does not effect the value, in some cases it can add value. However, the 'milk spots' on the reverse of the coin can lower its value.
