This is a pretty decent looking coin from what I can see. The date is clear enough even at a distance. The pics leave way too much room around the coin, making it difficult to see, but what is easy to see is that the coin is lying ...

On a dirty sock.

:(

Well, on the bright side I'm sure the coin has seen far worse in its' long life.
Rest in Peace

That's Cudabob's 'signature' background on most all of his items.

I agree with Silver Searcher that the sock looks clean, and is just grey...

There's a definite spot on the sock lower right. Talk about airing your dirty laundry. And the comment about locking this thread for bad puns is spot on.

The sock needs to go to PCGS or we'll never know.

I like your idea!

(I personally agree with the theory that it's clean - or perhaps had been washed after being dirty - and is just naturally that shade of grey.)

Does it come with the sock? Someone may collect coins and also like feet.

Given his feedback, there seem to be a lot of people who don't mind the sock!

I have wondered for years why he doesn't put up better and bigger pictures - never mind the sock.
