I was searching for a nice type-1 Standing Liberty quarter and came across this PCGS XF40 coin. It only had 35 minutes left in the auction so I put a bid in and figured I would be easily outbid by a sniper or two, but I ended up winning the coin. The picture of the coin/slab is not that great in the photo but I figured that with it being PCGS certified it isn't as imperative to have a sharp and clear photo of the coin. As far as the coin's value it seems like it went for a fair amount under what a PCGS XF40 is valued at. Now I am not complaining of getting a good deal (hopefully) but I became a little leery after winning the auction. I don't deal much in Standing Liberty quarters I just wanted a nicer one for my type set so I am just curious is that a decent deal? Anything to be concerned about? Thanks for any input

I don't like the fact that you can't even make out the date. photo's from this seller are not good at all.
I hope you make out ok on this coin. In my opinion if the SLQ was a type 1 ,cert.EF-40 by PCGS; you would of have more than 5 bids on it !!
sorry if I burst your bubble.

Thanks for the responses everybody. T-Bop, that is what I was concerned with. The odd angle of the photo and it is difficult to make out the date which is odd for a coin graded XF40. I was very content with my bid because it was PCGS certified and they are very well-respected and the seller has great feedback and hundreds of sales. I am probably worried over nothing, but I did find it odd that the bidding ended at what I considered a low number. I am happy about getting it on the cheap side, but it seems like coins usually get bid up at or above value on PCGS coins (even the greysheet ask is around $110 for a raw XF coin). I will say the seller did ship the coin very quickly so that is good service so far...

You got a really good deal. Of the 5 XF40s that recently sold on ebay, yours was the lowest price by $20. IMO the seller screwed themself with poor pictures. I'm sure it's a nice coin. You could easily flip it for a profit.
