This dime appears to have a possible over date or related error. I've heard of the 1893/2 variety error but nothing much beyond that for this year. Any thoughts?

Mentioned in the Lawrence book is a brief sentence that Breen listed an "ugly 3" and overdate. No pictures or anything http://blog.davidlawrence.com/index...ysis-1893-s/

I didn't find any San Francisco minted overdates in Heritage Auction archives.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I will have an answer.

I'm stumped as well Meadowview.
David Lawrence's Guide to Dimes is the best starting place, but it is we collectors who
like these dimes to carry on the search for ... things that are odd.

Note: my 1896-S dime - BOUGHT from David Lawrence Rare Coins. has the SAME multiple die breaks
mentioned in the Guide, but NOT mentioned in the auction.
These little oddities and often overlooked by sellers.

So, Hflirn, don't spend that dime just yet!
