This coin was unearthed in Maryland. It has issues but the ground was kind. How would you grade it? As a first year of issue the 1794s were probably thought odd, Liberty having had a fright, or perhaps only letting her hair down. They must have been kept as keepsakes. Far fewer 1794s were made compared to 1795s, yet I've seen more 1794s turn up in digs at early federal sites.

The ground was very kind to this coin. I'm guessing less acidic soil.

If I had dug that puppy up I would grade it one Yeee-Haw two loud WOO's and an extra long happy dance, but yeah have to agree with the crowd on this one.
