Another adoption from the tray where the culled orphans are put aside. Typically insipid New Orleans strike.

For this particular dealer, that's exactly what it is. As I explained elsewhere here recently, their expertise is such that they cater to a clientele for certain high end coins. They do operate a retail counter and obviously buy a good amount of what walks in, but raw, common Morgans (even if AU/UNC) that other shops might send off for certification in order to eke out a few more bucks out of them, they put out with the bullion, ASE's, et cetera for the quick flip. They're simply not of great interest to them nor is it their core business dealing in them.

Check the mint mark area for an underlying "CC". It could be a variety.

Nice pick up!

I had already looked for that and not seen it. However, the "O" is definitely tilted to the right, which I know is a VAM although I'm not certain precisely which one.

I'll concede that for the reverse, but the obverse is pretty mediocre, I'd judge.

It's certainly no less than AU58 and likely MS62ish. Another nice pick from the tray.

Possibly VAM34?

Nicely defined hair, feathers look good, I reckon it would get an MS60 if not higher.

Maybe AU, more likely MS I think. Great finds, both the coin and the dealer.
