47P7 Thanks, can always count on you for a good reply, like looking for that needle in a haystack eh. I have my poor wife half crazy scared to death to spend a dime-- now if I can only convince her to use same caution in other spending...mmmmmm

We have been looking for the 'large date' ten cents for years... If you find one in fair condition you could probably get $5,000 or so.

There are less than 20 known, if I remember correctly. Quote: looking for that needle in a haystack More like looking for a piece of hay in a needlestack after the RCM started ARP. Everything I come across is plated.

for some reason I feel that I have seen one in my collection, but I cant seem to find it. not that my collection isn't all over the house instead of organized in one place or something. I dont know maybe it was a 68 I saw. needles in a haystack? I just found my first "semi rare" 2006p magnetic after going through I believe $1500 in cents. what are the odds a no mag are in there?
BTW good luck with the other spending... lolol

sorry coingringo, as I was going to say @ M_d_in_guy, metal detecting is your best bet, because anyone who knows the worth of a lg has brought it forward, anyone else has spend their 69s to have the arp gobble them up, or... they have been dropped in the sand.

I read somewhere why there are very few may have been here , sorry I can't recall but I know it was definitive enough to have me stop looking. Could be found in sets only and or a mule, finding one in circulation is like finding a particular piece of hay in a hay stack.

Actually all of pieces that exist are lower end circulated examples .The coin is a legit issue albeit a rare one!
