Hi all. I saw what I thought was a pretty decent deal on some 3 cent coins so I jumped on them for my type set. I'll crop and post the seller's pictures and I'd love to hear what you grade them. Thanks!

I know these aren't the best of pictures but I'm just looking for a rough grade.

These photos are even tougher, but besides the toning you can see it still has some pretty decent details. Any comments on the black streak?

Also, I paid $25 total including shipping. Did I do well or make a mistake? I'm happy with the price/coins regardless, but its nice to know what the community thinks.

Thanks for your time.

Nice coins!

From these pics I grade F-12 for the 3CN. Nice little die break @ 2:00 on the reverse.

As for the 3CS, I'm conflicted on the toning. It's not the prettiest in my opinion, but then again I've seen lots of weirdly toned examples of this type. I'll give it a VF-25.

The value is over $50, so you got an excellent deal regardless! Glad to hear the type set is coming along, Duncan!

Fine details on the 1881. It looks like it has been dipped too often

Very Fine -20 on the 1852

At $25 for the pair you are not getting hurt. The last show I was at I saw common date CN were going in for $15 for Good to Very Good, they were in a big pile on the dealers table. So if this price is right you paid $10 for the 1852. How far wrong can you go?

They are both in nice shape, and the price is right. Just not sure if they are details or not. I need to get me one of those 3C silvers.

As far as the black streak goes, coins was probably in a 2x2 and was at the end of a stack that someone put a rubber band around. I'm seen similar ones to that before. What ever gas the rubber band gives off is bad.

Are the reverse details on the 1881 F-12? They seem more VF/XF but the Obverse is unfortunately a F-12.

These small things are quite often holed, and as such, are close to having no numismatic value.

Price is OK for these.
