Hi all
Going through my recent bulk purchase I found a couple of random non Roman types which I honestly have no clue what they are, this one in particular caught my interest

I am assuming that we have to go East to find its origin, then again what do I know
TIA

Somehow it makes me think of Indian coinage. But that's about all.

That's what I am thinking also Med, I don't even know if I have it the right way up or not which would help.
This may call for " ancientnoobs " expertise, or maybe one of the others might chip in.
Its giving me a much needed break from the roman pile though

Came across this http://www.delcampe.net/page/item/i...guage,E.html and that might very well be the principle type of your coin.

My first thought was Ottoman, but I am unsure. I also thought it to be similar but far less likely, a Hunnic Bronze obol.

Looks like an Ottoman AR Akche.
They tend to "crop up" in Lots that originate from the Balkans, even those sold on ebay UK.

Whenever I see lines and circles, I always first assume Indian as well.

Often if the ancient coin looks completely Alien it's actually Indian. Believe it or not there was a time when it was thought that India had no native ancient coinage, and coinage had been introduced via Greece.
