The 2015 RAM ballot has been released
1 x silver AUS coin + 1 x silver NZ coin
1,915 Mintage, 2oz of silver, $500 asking price

Is this a money making exercise based on the success of the ANZAC series of coins or perhaps an opportunity for astute collectors to make some money

I'm interested to know what you think.....

Making a profit for the Mint always has to be the most important consideration.

2oz of silver Hmm Perth mints own price per oz right now is a whopping $24.40 per oz. I do not see value in the stamping at another $451.60.

You would do better at a bank in interest over a period of time that it would take for them to increase in value.

Not sure they are of any value for to many.

I agree But there is a distinction between making a profit and "Profiteering".
I think they set the price on this because of the secondary sales of the VC bronze coin.

You could buy a rather nice GOLD Sovereign for $500 which contains nearly a quarter of an once of gold.

It will be interesting to see what these go for on ebay especially when certain sellers end up with multiples of these "Ballot" coins.

The silver content in the coins are pretty much irrelevant. The RAM are relying on the low mintage to boost the value. The mintage of 1,915 is low but as we all know a coins value is a function not just of supply but also of demand. The demand for this coin will probably mean that initially the price will be high on the secondary market.

But the question is that in 20 years time will anybody care what NCLT was released in 2015?
