Nice one. From what I can determine it would belong to his second coinage which started ~1280. Most likely #5050 in my edition (1984) of the Standard Catalogue of British Coins, Vol.2. Unfortunately no detailed information for the mints of the second coinage is given there.

I've got a few of these pennies and was told that the mint is determined by the amount of points to the mullets,Ie 24 points is Berwick, but this is very tentative, yours looks like 23 points and I've looked but can't find the possible mint.

I've heard that about the points too.
I noticed one has 5.

I really like that coin, Vermontensium. I don't have any/many Scottish coins, so it is unusual to me.
While I prefer the wear, I'd love to see it without the wear, so might look it up. Thanks.

They are surprisingly affordable..even in higher grades.
I bought it after the whole Braveheart thing. Wanted something from the time of Edward I and Wallace.

indeed, cool coin VERM. you're right, they are pretty affordable. this is the only western european coin I have from the early 13th century...our coins may have hung out in the same purse back in the day.
