The copper color would be a lot stronger in redness if the cladding was missing.

To me your coin looks more like it was found outdoors at one time. The color still tells me the cladding is still there, just toned a bit. Note on the nose how the silver color is there after the toning has been rubbed off at the high points?

It's weight is in the range of a normal quarter so it is not missing clad. A missing clad both sides would only weigh about 3.7 gr. and probably be weakly struck as it would be thin.

I have about 6 quarters just like that djohnson, by the looks of your picture I been told that it's environmental damage. Sorry, but don't think those are rare

Note the silver color coming through on the coin. It is environmental damage as Eva mentioned. They mave been homeless for a time outdoors. Turned color and found and put back into circulation
