Well I have been watching this coin on ebay for quite sometime. http://www.ebay.com/itm/35116062889....m1436.l2649I like the appearance and appeared to be accurately graded, but was priced above grade. I found the same coin on their website, and it was listed for $125, a little better. The coin also had a make an offer. I offered $110, submitted my offer and went back to scrounging ebay. I looked at the coin on ebay and it showed item ended, 5 seconds later got an email saying my offer was accepted. So far so good, seem like very fair people to do business with. We will see how the coin looks when I get it.

I have purchased two coins from DLRC in the past, and have been pleased. As you say, their prices can be a little high, but I have found them to be a reputable dealer.

Nice purchase. I haven't bought from them before, but they look like a decent seller.

David Lawrence Rare Coins (DLRC) is an absolutely honest dealer with a staff of full time numismatists ... they are not a basement 'fly by night' internet presence.
That said ... they typically engage at the top end of the retail market as far as prices go ... and as you just witnessed are willing to 'make a deal' on slower moving coins.
I have purchased many coins from them ... either through their website or live at shows.
Hopeful that your experience with DLRC will be as satisfactory as mine.

Reputable online dealers are an asset to our hobby. The thing that impressed me was they ended the ebay listing BEFORE accepting my offer. I have often hit buy it now on items to have the sellers tell me " oh, that item sold a while ago".

Nice people to talk to at a coin show if you run into them.

He typically runs "sales" where a coin will be reduced by 5% in price and I have seen as much as 7% off. So, if a fixed priced coin has a "make an offer" you will probably be able to get it for at least 5% off the listed price. He wants to sell coins and any reasonable offer will most likely be accepted.
I have bought a couple of coins from him also and have been very satisfied with them.

Google "Tales from the Bourse" by David Lawrence - it is a nice read. The text is online but a few years ago I found a nice printed copy for my library.

I have made a few purchases myself. I also sent in a few for them to look at for purchase...totally ridiculous offer, varieties were not considered in their offer.

I bought this coin from David Lawrence back in December. It was originally listed for $1200, which I thought was a little high, but I snapped it up when he reduced the price to $1,062.50. Great coin, great service and no complaints whatsoever from me. I'm still not sure, however, where he came up with the number $1,062.50. It's, what, 11.46% off the original price?

How do their pictures compare with the actual coins? I see many of their pictures make the coins look dull and lusterless. What is stranger is that the key coins and higher end ones look to be photographed better showing more luster and the cartwheel. Is this the coins or just how they are taking the pictures?
