Could some of the more experienced US doubled die collectors here do me a favour, and chime in with your opinion here?

I'm getting there but if this was my coin I can say it looks like Machine Doubling if you notice the devices are smaller. If I where coop which I'm not close yet I would make a picture out of yours and highlight the area specified then show you a true double die side by side comparison. I'm waiting for his response now

Could you post an image of a normal set of devices and the coin you are questioning. I don't know what the normal design looks like. On Lincoln cents it is easy for me to tell. But on a coin I'm not familiar I'm at a loss to say for sure. So a side by side would be great. Like this:

Seeing the devices sized with the same size helps to see what is going on. Basically hub doubling increases the sizes of the devices, while machine damage reduces the size of the devices. So seeing them side by side helps a lot:

So I make up a side by side to see that is coin on:

Looking at your images somethings seem interesting and other things looks like MD. So it would help with more information on this thread. You can have both hub doubling and machine damage (other call it doubling, but I call it what it is) on the same coin.

So I will look forward to your images. The larger the better. If you want to send them to my email address, I can edit them so I can see them better.
