As double dimes go, I thought this one was much better than I have been finding in my search for one. It does not look cleaned to me, but I would welcome any comments on this coin. It is being sold raw, and the seller says XF. I see some abrasions at 5 o'clock on the obverse, but otherwise I like it. I have done business with this seller before, and he is ok. Any thoughts on this one? Thanks!

Wow. This is not what I expected to see when I clicked, knowing it was a 20C. Nice eye appeal, well-struck obverse, XF all day. I am worried by what looks like porosity in the images, especially the obverse, but prepared to believe it's a photographic artifact.

Looks like an aXF, quite close but not quite IMO. Cleaned and retoned too.

I'd go XF40 and would have some concerns about the surfaces until I saw it in the flesh.

I think the coin is ok, the pics are a little pixelated.. Not quite XF, VF30-35 from here.

the devices are very bright and indicative of an old cleaning and retone over time. Little bit of scratches on that right obverse mirror? Nice p/u. VF Details

I have a split grade. Obverse VF35. Reverse XF40. Normally I go with the obverse grade. Looks original to me

Thanks to everyone for their comments and opinions. Just to complicate matters, while I was deciding whether to purchase this coin, another one that I think I like more came up for sale. I think there is less of a question about the surfaces of this coin. See below:

MUCH better choice. That looks very original. Notice how there is no "brightness" to the reliefs versus the other coin? There's your difference from old cleaning to no cleaning. I do not have the background on this series to question authenticity but as long as it checks out as genuine, jump on the second one. Its a much more desirable coin than the first.

Thank you for pushing me over the edge on this one. I have been looking for a 20C for quite a while, most are pretty beat up, or BU. I was able to get this for $275.00 and it is returnable. Thnks again!
