Was looking for info on the DDO version, WB-102. Google led me to several articles, one of which mentioned it being taken out of the cherrypickers listing - due to lack of availablity. Anyone know the story behind that info and is it that tough to locate? thanks

Scarcer than hen's teeth, maybe a dozen in slabs. NGC's Top Pop example is currently on ebay (AU50); ANACS has a 55. I don't know if the ebay price is appropriate; Dick Osburn has one in 40 for half that.

so I probably overpaid for the one I found, but I like it anyway, especially how the reverse has a weakly struck area.

I don't think you could really "overpay" for a coin like this. It's the kind of thing larger dealers would like to know the location of, to satisfy an esoteric customer. The "right price" is really liquid for a variety this rare - it's a PCGS Registry change from being one of the hottest coins on the market, or something similar.

Dick Osburn also has an ANACS AU50 at the same price as the ebay coin. That coin has mottled toning but you can still see the PUPs for the attribution.

An example I picked up last week, reverse pic shows the light striking of AMERICA. It also shows weak strike @ the foot and 2 right stars.
