XRF Says Co... Cobalt Buffalo Nickel?

DblClipped New Member United States 33 Posts	Posted 02/22/2015 3:38 pm Hello All, I thought maybe it had been gold plated at one time and worn, I dont know. Hence the XRF Scientific ananlisis. The resust was CO. I know Cobalt and Nickel are close on the Periodic table but how it got on this Nickel? Thank you in advance for reading and offering your opinion. Report this Post to the Staff

SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 02/22/2015 4:22 pm XRF ought to nail the Cobalt accurately; copper is only one number off of Nickel the other way and XRF differentiates those just fine. It's a plating material so common that kits to do it are for sale to the public. Report this Post to the Staff
