I have taken several looks at this quarter, and had taken several pictures, the one below is the best I have to date.
Has anyone else seen of a DD Mint mark on a 63 Proof Quarter/ Take a look at the picture and please let me know what you think.

I have a feeling someone will say its a Mechanical Doubling. Please give my your expertise opinion CC Family.

arby96 this is hard one to tell from the picture. If it is Strike Doubling (mechanical) doubling the separation between the two D's will have a shelf like appearance sort of like steps in a swimming pool. A genuine RPM or doubled mintmark will have some kind of a roll or curve from one letter to the other.

As atchisonbj has pointed out, it's hard to tell from your picture... Could you possibly take another one?

Can't believe my camera can take a better picture than my Nikon camera, here are a couple of more pics. That is one heck of a mechanical double D.

If it's dated 1963 and is a proof, then it shouldn't have a D mint mark.

Proofs of that year were struck at Philadelphia.

This is a Uncirculated set from both mints still sealed in their little packages. Sorry it was late last night and I didn't realize I posted it as a proof set.

Note the machine damage on the mint mark and also on the quarter dollar devices. Not a RPM.

Well all I can say is their quality control sucked, these damaged coins shouldn't have been put into circulation, Why is it that die cracks, gouges, Cuds get a variety attached to them but coins like these don't. I protest!
