Video: Bust Half Dollars/Territorial Gold Coins Highlight Png US Auction

We are pleased to present one of the most extensive groups of Lettered Edge Capped Bust half dollars by Overton variety we have ever handled in our Dallas Invitational PNG US coins Signature Auction, taking place at the Gaylord Texan Hotel February 26-March 1. This collection is 96% complete by die marriage, with 437 of the Overton numbers representing the years 1807-1836, plus a number of additional coins that are included by die state.

Most of the collection is presented in the February 26 Premier session and February 27 Signature Floor sessions of the Dallas PNG auction. Other coins appear in the fast-paced Online Signature session on March 1, and still more coins — more than 100 lots — are found in the Sunday/Tuesday Internet coin auction scheduled to end on March 1 and 3.

This is truly a wonderful offering for Bust Half collectors, with coins averaging 50.75 in grade and many rare varieties and Choice original examples in preferred collector grades.

The Skidaway Island collection is reminiscent of a previous set we handled in 2006 — the incomparable Jules Reiver Collection, which was also focused on circulated, original coins with appealing surfaces and sharp diagnostics for most Overton die pairs.

Assembled over a period approaching two decades, such a set is not easy to acquire, and it may be many years before we once again offer as nearly complete a group of Capped Bust halves by Overton number.
