Pics are not great but there's almost complete seperation on the 9 there's just not many markers to go off of...it's either 001 or 002 I think-I can't get a good pic of the bottom bust yet and can't tell myself if there's doubling there or not

This is a Denver mint coin, so consider the location of the mint mark. It looks like 004 is closest in location. But check to see if the hub doubling is the same. The other 001-003 locations of the mint mark are not close. But it still could be a new die. But check to see if you can find any markers that match or die flow/events that might match with your coin. But the hub doubling on all devices should be a match in order to be this die. Die wear is also something to consider as to whether it matches the 004.

I definitely agree with you on the mint mark location-4 does look the closest however my date has much more doubling and seperation in the 9...I'd like to match this up but I don't see one and I've checked wexler and coneca...heading to work now will try to match up some markers tonight of possible...if not mabi ill email coppercoins but I never get a response,lol-guess they r swamped

Just an update...john wexler seems to think this is WDDO-001...coppercoins 1Do-002...and said if he can get decent pics of the doubling he may use it for his 'varieties notebook' column in Coin World...im all for that! Lol so anyway off it went to him today for attribution,we will see? Thanks for the help with this one!

That's cool man,John Wexler one of the best. It will neat if he does use it. I find many Class 6 OBV 1984 D and OBV 1983 D Doubled Die Cents.
