I was sorting through the thousands of pre 1960 nickels I had set aside roll hunting and when going through the stacks of 1939's I found these 2 doubled dies.

For the "O it hit your Forehead Jefferson yes DDR.
For the "EWW it hit the back of your Head Jefferson yes DDR.

Feel free to clean that O and EWW off the coins. I think its safe to say because of the grade of the coins a little cleaning will be ok.

I found another one in a roll this week to add to the herd.

This one is a little better condition than the other 2 and hopefully the gunk will come off with some acetone.

Those are indeed the treasured DDR ... perhaps I should sort through the same coins?

Unmistakable on this variety. I've found nearly two hundred 1939 but no DDRs to this point. Nice close-ups coop.
